The
Fiji Government through the Colombo Plan Secretariat (CPS) invites applications
for study at the University Putra, Malaysia (UPM) commencing from the 2010/2011
academic year.
(1) Field of Studies.
POSTGRADUATE MASTERS
· Agriculture – Economics
· Forestry – Wood Science &
Technology
· Veterinary – Anesthesiology
· Medicine – Hematology & Clinical
Pathology,
Pathology,
Physiology,
Surgery
(2) Eligibility
· Must be Fiji citizen.
· Must not hold a
permanent residency status of another country.
· Must not hold a
passport of another country.
· Must not be a recipient
of another scholarship.
· Must not be under a
bond or student loan scheme arrangement with a Government agency.
· Should have at least 5
years relevant work experience.
· Should hold a first
degree grade specific to the program required with Grade Point Average score
(GPA) of 2.5.
· Applicants without
sufficient academic qualification but possessing evidence of adequate related
work experience of at least 5 years in the public sector, may also be
considered
· Should be not more than
45 years of age.
· Applications from Civil
Servants MUST be endorsed by their Permanent Secretaries.
· Applications from
employees in the private sector MUST be submitted with a letter of
recommendation from the CEO of the organization.
(3) Note:
Successful
awardees would be bonded to the Fiji Government prior to departure and must return to Fiji at the end of studies.

(i) Recent Curriculum Vitae.
(ii) Copies of original academic Transcripts.
(iii) A full extract (A4 size) of birth
certificate.
(iv) A recent passport photo.
(v) The applicant’s statement
(approx 100 words) on the reasons for choosing the field of study, his/her
long
and short term career
objectives, how will this field of study help in achieving those objectives, how will the
field of study benefit the country, etc.
(b) Online applications may
also be done at the Government Information Referral Centre (GIRC), Thomson Street (corner of Scott Street) Suva and at the
PSC Scholarship Unit Office at 61 Carnarvon Street, Suva.
