This Scholarship is Closed

The Fiji Government through the Government of the Republic of Cuba invites applications from Fiji citizens to study Bachelor of Surgery and Medicine [MBBS] tenable in Cuba from September, 2010.

Considerations when applying for the scholarship:

1. Applicants should note that the scholarship is granted ONLY for a Bachelor of Surgery & Medicine [MBBS].
2. Six years of study plus One year preparatory for the Spanish language training; MBBS programme will be taught in the Spanish language.
3. Awards must be taken up in September, 2010.
4. Requests for deferment will not be considered.
5. The Scholar must return to his or her own country at the end of the scholarship and will be bonded according to the PSC Scholarship conditions.
6. The scholarship will cover the following :
1. Cuban Government
• Tuition
• Lodging for single student
• Food
• Books
• Monthly allowance
• Medical & Dental assistance
2. Student
• Own Airfares
Eligibility:
1. Must be a Fiji citizen.
2. Should be 18 to 25 years of age as of date of commencement of studies.
3. Successful completion of Fiji Form VII Examination or Foundation Science Certificate (or equivalent qualifications).
4. Standard of Foundation Science with at least B average & preferably Form 7 marks of 280 with a pass in English, Mathematics, Biology & Chemistry.
5. Students already on Fiji Government awards; Student Loan Scheme, Fijian Affairs and Multi Ethnic Affairs Scholarships will NOT be considered.

Each applicant must submit the following documents:
1. Completed PSC Scholarship application form.
2. Certified copies of external examinations results.
3. A Certified Copy of Birth certificate.
4. A completed Medical Examination Report.
5. Curriculum vitae.
6. Three References.
7. Police Clearance report.
8. Ten[10] passport size [3x3] photographs.
