- responsible for maintaining a harmonious and productive work culture in the Public Service in compliance with the applicable and relevant legislations through the development of effective human resource management policies, strategies and practices that fosters equity, fairness and good people management.
- responsible for providing quality advice to its clientele; effectively administer negotiations with registered trade unions, dispute settlement and the development of performance management systems in Ministries and Department.
- operates with a high level of independence in the development of policies, negotiations in dispute committee, conciliation, mediation and Employment Relations Tribunal and Employment Court proceeding
- setting of terms and conditions of employment for the Public Service and its application that will ensure a harmonious and productive work culture service-wide
- undertakes policy initiation and review of human resource management policies and practices through its Policy Development Unit
- provides advice and guidance to Ministries and Department on the application and interpretation of terms and conditions of service through its Client Service Unit
- represents the Commission in Central Agencies, Committees, and meetings and administers the Public Service Commission Group Insurance Scheme.
