The Service Excellence Awards will again be implemented in 2009. Each Ministry/Department would have now nominated a ‘Service Excellence Champion’ who will act as the focal point of your organisation and establish a working committee to prepare your organisation for this year’s Evaluation process.  Names of Service Excellence Champions for all Government agencies  are available on this link .  They have undergone the Champions Awareness training at the Government Training Centre from the 12th – 13th August, 2009.

The Evaluation process will adopt the Service Excellence Awards Framework (click here ) which has been adapted from the Fiji Business Excellence Awards Framework.  The Framework is a holistic management and evaluation tool that will enable organisations to determine the effectiveness of the systems and processes in each of the seven evaluation categories.

The seven categories are:
Category 1: Leadership and Management
Category 2: Strategy, & Planning Process
Category 3: Data, Information & Knowledge
Category 4: People
Category 5: Customer Focus
Category 6: Process, Goods & Services
Category 7: Organisational Performance

Each organisation will have to apply for one of the two levels of recognition.  For the 2009 Evaluation process, organisations can apply for either the “Achievement in Service Excellence” or the “Service Excellence Prize”. Applications are due on the 4th September, 2009Application forms can be downloaded from the website. Further details of the levels of recognition are in the framework.

All Agencies will utilize the SEA Desktop submission template which can also be downloaded from the website. For each category and item of evaluation, organisations will have to fill in the details for the Approach, Deployment, Results and Improvement (ADRI) by answering questions on page 33 of the SEA Framework.  Agency submissions are due on the 18th September, 2009.
