MR RAM CHANDAR RE-INSTATED

The former Permanent Secretary for Local Government, Urban Development, Environment and Housing, Mr Ram Chandar has been re-instated by the Public Service Commission.

Chairman of the Public Service Commission Mr Josefa Serulagilagi said Mr Chandar has been posted to the Commission as Permanent Secretary with Special Duties and will assist in the implementation of organizational review study of the civil service and facilitating the rationalization of acting appointments as well as project positions throughout the Civil Service.

Mr Serulagilagi highlighted that Mr Chandar will be working closely with the Permanent Secretary for the Public Service on both the assignments and will also report to the Chairman. Mr Chandar had been reprimanded for having breached the Public Service Code of conduct.

He has been re-instated with full salary effective from January 27th 2010.
