HEAD SIGNS PERFORMANCE AGREEMENTS

Nine out of 21 Permanent Secretaries today signed their performance agreement at the Public Service Commission.

Signed each year between the Commission and Permanent Secretaries from various ministries and departments, Chairman for the Public Service Commission Mr Josefa Serulagilagi said the performance agreement focuses on the framework set out in their Annual Corporate Plan of the diverse activities of each ministry and how their daily outputs contributes to the goals and objectives of each ministry’s portfolio during their Permanent Secretaries term of contract.

“More importantly each ministry’s Corporate Plan is directly linked to the Roadmap for Democracy and Sustainable Socio-Economic Development and is intended to guide the ministries in order to implement Government’s priorities,” he said.

He added the Public Service Commission will carry out a review of the performance of the Permanent Secretaries in terms of the agreement at the end of 12 months from the date of signing. Mr Serulagilagi urged all Permanent Secretaries to strengthen their commitment towards ensuring greater efficiency and service delivery within the civil service and as well as making significant contributions towards the achievement of a “ Better Fiji for All.”
