Recepients of the ITEC from the Indian High Commission

Seven recipients of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme (ITEC) received their traveling itinerary from the Indian High Commission today for further studies in India.

The seven who were nominated by their various ministries and departments will be leaving our shores in February and will be studying in various institutes and universities under the ITEC programme .

Congratulated by India’s High Commissioner to Fiji ,Professor Prabhakar Jha, the recipients were told that traveling to India would be a fascinating yet intense experience.

Public Enterprise employee, Ms Kavita Verma who will be traveling to New Delhi for a two week course in Introducing Competition in Small Micro-enterprises and the role of Finance said she was excited about the trip.

Each year a total of 18 participants from Fiji are nominated from various ministries and departments to further their studies under the ITEC programme.

The ITEC programme began in 1964 as a bilateral programme of assistance of the Government of India, where 156 countries are invited to share in the Indian Development Experience.
