The Technical Cooperation Scheme of Colombo Plan was started with a view to provide technical assistance to neighbouring Colombo Plan countries. Through this
Scheme, Government of India provides a comprehensive and integrated training to participant from member countries of Colombo Plan with the purpose of assisting them to enhance their administrative and technical capabilities through human resource development.

Under this scheme, around 410 scholars receive training in different institutes in India every year. The trainees are drawn according to the quota of slots earmarked for their respective countries. The trainees are provided with air fare, tuition fee, accommodation and living allowance to cover daily expenses.

This publication provides an updated information on courses organised by various institutes in India during April, 2008 to March,2009. The details of training programmes given in this publication are also available on the Ministry of Finance’s, (Government of India) web site www. finmin.nic.in.

The procedure for applying for these courses and receiving training awards is outlined in Appendix B.

Candidates wishing to apply for the training programmes must apply through the Centre for Training and Development Division (CTD), Public Service Commission.

Nominations have to come through the corporate services of their respective departments and/or ministries.

Nomination should be on Form A.2-3 (Appendix B) see attached.
